A Mission of Hope: Foundation for the Poor’s First Visit to Haven of Hope, India

January 26–31, 2025 | Chhindwara District, Madhya Pradesh

As part of its ongoing international mission work, the Foundation for the Poor Inc. (FFP) embarked on a meaningful journey to the Chhindwara District of Madhya Pradesh, India. This marked FFP’s first official visit to Haven of Hope, an organization dedicated to serving physically challenged children and vulnerable communities.
The Founder of FFP, together with volunteer Jeremy, traveled to India to witness firsthand the impact of two major FFP-supported initiatives. The visit provided a deeper understanding of the needs on the ground and the progress being made through long-standing partnerships.

During the mission trip, the team observed the development and operations of the following projects:

  • Haven of Hope School
  • Sanjeevani Rehabilitation Center, Harrai

These initiatives play a vital role in providing education, rehabilitation, and life skills training to children with physical challenges—offering them dignity, opportunity, and hope for a better future.

The delegation was warmly welcomed by Fr. Thomas Therattil, whose hospitality and unwavering dedication made the visit especially meaningful. Time was spent engaging with the children, visiting construction and program sites, and strengthening partnerships with local leaders and caregivers.

This mission reaffirmed Foundation for the Poor’s commitment to standing alongside communities in need—supporting sustainable programs that uplift lives through education, rehabilitation, and compassion. Witnessing the resilience and joy of the children served as a powerful reminder that even small acts of love and service can create lasting change.

As FFP continues its mission across borders, this visit to India stands as a testament to what is possible when hearts, resources, and purpose come together to bring hope where it is needed most.
